About This Service
A precision hunting rifle is built around one question: what are you actually going to do with it? That answer drives every decision that follows — action, barrel contour and length, chambering, stock, trigger and optic. A mountain rifle carried ten miles a day and a heavy-barrelled rig shot off a bipod are not the same tool, and building one as though it were the other is how people end up with a rifle they never enjoy shooting.
Work starts with a conversation about the game you hunt, the country you hunt it in, the distances you are honestly prepared to shoot, and what you are willing to carry all day. From there the rifle is specified as a whole, rather than assembled out of whatever parts happen to be on the shelf.
How the build comes together
The action is trued and the bolt lugs lapped so the locking surfaces bear evenly. The barrel is chambered and threaded to that specific action, the muzzle crowned, and the assembly headspaced. The stock is inletted and glass bedded so the action returns to the same place every time it is torqued down, and the barrel channel is opened up to float the barrel clear of the forend. Trigger, optic mounting and finish are specified to suit the rifle rather than bolted on afterwards.
The result is a rifle that fits the person shooting it and holds its zero — which matters far more in the field than a number on a target at the range.

Prices are a starting point — final cost depends on condition, parts and the work involved. Shop rate is $100–$150 per hour, with a $46 minimum intake charge.
